Man dies in traffic accident

A late-night traffic fatality Thursday claimed the life of Dutton man.
According to Sgt. Scott Matthews of the Scottsboro Police Department, Steve Mannon, 42, died at the scene of the accident after the motorcycle he was driving colliding with a Lincoln Navigator on Highway 72 near Western Sizzlin around midnight.
“He was traveling north on Highway 72 when, apparently, the Lincoln Navigator pulled out from the access road onto the highway,” Matthews said.
Matthews added that Mannon’s motorcycle struck the front driver's side of the Lincoln Navigator.
The driver of the Lincoln Navigator was not injured, according to Matthews.
