Stevenson raid nets four on meth charges

Published February 2, 2010

Law enforcement officials arrested four people in connection with a meth lab at a residence in Stevenson late Saturday night.

Cpt. Eric Woodall, of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, said investigator Craig Holcomb obtained a search warrant for the residence, on County Road 104.

With assistance from the Stevenson Police Department, Holcomb located items used in manufacturing meth, finished meth and a half-pound of marijuana.

Woodall said $2,500 cash was also seized from the residence.

Jonathan Matthew Higdon, 35, of Stevenson, Chester Higdon, 59, of Stevenson, Kandice Nicole Rector, 28, of South Pittsburgh, Tenn. and Robert Joseph Rector, 29, of South Pittsburgh, Tenn. were each arrested.

All four suspects were charged with Unlawful Manufacturing First Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana Second Degree.

Woodall said Jonathan Higdon received additional charges for failure to appear on a previous Manufacturing charge.

Woodall said paperwork was being filed to revoke Jonathan Higdon's previous bond.

All four were transported to the Jackson County Jail, where bond was set at $15,500.

Chester Higdon bonded out Monday afternoon, according to Woodall. Kandice Rector and Joseph Rector remained in jail.
