Sheriff’s office searching for clues

Published June 23, 2009

A tombstone was found in the Tennessee River, off County Road 67 in Langston Friday.

Chief Deputy Chuck Phillips of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said a fisherman saw the tombstone.

"He was just out fishing off the side of the road when he saw it," said Phillips. "Right now we don't know where it came from."

Phillips said the tombstone is marked with the name "Knight," and reads, "children of this man are Renee and Michelle."

If anyone knows where this tombstone belongs or to who, contact the sheriff's office at 574-2610.
