At Monday’s meeting, the Scottsboro City Council adopted a resolution asking the Alabama Department of Transportation to conduct a traffic survey at the intersection of U.S. Highway 72 and Snodgrass Road, near Scottsboro High School, to determine if a light is warranted.
Council President Matthew Hodges said the total cost of a traffic light would be $80,000, and the city would be responsible for half of that.
ALDOT will do a traffic count and consider accidents and fatalities in the area to see if the traffic light is warranted, Hodges said.
In other business Monday the council:
• adopted a resolution in support of TVA's Bellefonte project.
• tabled a liquor license request from Bone Daddee's due to a representative not being present.
The city council's March 15 work session has been re-scheduled for March 22 at 6 p.m.
