Four facing drug charges
Published July 24, 2009
Four people remained in the Jackson County Jail Thursday morning after being arrested the night before on drug charges in Dutton.
Chief Deputy Chuck Phillips of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said a search warrant was served around 11 p.m. Wednesday at a residence on County Road 124.
A result of the search warrant by Phillips and DeKalb County Drug Task Force agent Jimmy Jones turned up amounts of marijuana and meth.
John Paul Brown, 38, and Amanda Lacole Davis, 24, both of the residence, were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Alisha Larue Fay, 20, of Fyffe, was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, while Cody Garmany, 20, of Henagar, was charged with Possession of Marijuana Second Degree.
“This was the end result of a two-week investigation,” Phillips said.
Phillips added that a 19-month-old child was also present at the residence.
“DHR removed the child and placed it with family members,” Phillips said.
As of Thursday morning, all four suspects remained in custody on $5,000 bond each.
