Man faces meth charges

Published October 23, 2009

A Dutton man being picked up on probation violation and revocation warrants got even more charges after Jackson County Sheriff's deputies allegedly discovered him in possession of drugs.

Chief Deputy Chuck Phillips said deputies Steve Whritenour and Dennis Blevins arrived at the residence of Anthony Lee Brown on County Road 396 in Dutton Wednesday.

“He refused to come to the door when the deputies got there,” Phillips said.

Phillips said Brown's wife, Dorothy Brown told Whritenour and Blevins that her husband was not there.

The deputies, however, found out differently, finally arresting Brown, age 36.

While being arrested, Brown was found in possession of meth. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Dorothy Brown was also arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension.

"She lied about [Brown's] presence at the residence," said Phillips.

Anthony Brown remained in the Jackson County Jail Thursday, awaiting bond.
